Responsibilities
  • Own your territory: Develop and manage sales in a residential area
  • Connect with homeowners: Door knock, network, and follow up on referrals
  • Track wins: Monitor sales activities and hit performance goals
  • Close the deal: Present solar solutions, explain financing, guide customers through the process
  • Educate & inspire: Help homeowners understand benefits of solar—cost savings, clean energy, energy independence
  • Grow with Sunrun: Attend weekly training meetings to sharpen skills, boost earnings, unlock career opportunities
Qualifications
  • Must be 18+ years old
  • Experience in direct or commission‑based sales preferred
  • Self‑motivated with strong willingness to learn
  • Willingness to work flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends
  • Comfortable working outdoors and walking for extended periods in various weather conditions
Licensing & Career Path

Applicants must hold a valid California Home Improvement Salesperson (HIS) License. If selected but lacking the license, the candidate will be hired initially as a Sales Scheduler (paid at minimum wage, capped at 35 hours/week). Upon obtaining the HIS license, the employee will transition into the Solar Sales Direct Seller role, which is 100% commission‑based.

Compensation

Average compensation ranges from $60,000 to $100,000 (dependent on location and personal success). Top performers can earn up to $205,020+ per year. In California, average compensation for the first 12 months ranges from $60,000 to $90,000, depending on personal success.
