Havertys is actively seeking individuals who wish to pursue a successful and gratifying career in the retail furniture industry. As a Retail Furniture Sales Consultant
, you will assist customers in selecting furniture by understanding their needs and helping them create a warm and inviting home. The ideal candidate is highly driven and self‑motivated, excelling individually while being a supportive team member. You will contribute to overall store success and customer satisfaction, consistently meeting established sales goals.

Earn between $55,000 to $100,000+ per year. In 2025, Havertys Sales Consultants earned $87,000 on average nationally. The company offers an uncapped commission structure with a guaranteed income component providing generous base earnings.

Retail hours including nights and weekends. Stores are open 10 am – 7 pm Monday – Saturday and 12 pm – 6 pm Sunday.

• Provide excellent service to customers from contact through delivery and beyond.
• Demonstrate professional verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills; connect with a diverse group of customers.
• Build relationships independently and with our Interior Design Consultant within our complementary Design program.
• Reinforce customer selections and assist in completing the look of their rooms.
• Provide product, service, and finance expertise based on customer needs.
• Utilize company‑provided tablets and proprietary technology for customer communication.
• Enter client information using Havertys customer relationship management system and provide professional follow‑up.
• Maintain knowledge of a broad range of furniture styles and products.

• Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple customer communications concurrently.

• Proficient in resolving customer objections and ensuring satisfaction.
• Familiarity with a broad range of furniture styles and products preferred but not required.
• Computer proficiency including email; knowledge and use of MS Office preferred; tablet/iPad operation strongly preferred.
• Relevant experience preferred but not required.
• College education preferred; high school / GED or equivalent required; or 1–3 years of retail experience preferably in a commissioned sales position.
• Interior Design highly desired.

• Beautifully appointed showrooms with a 140‑year company heritage; fast‑paced, customer‑focused, business professional dress code.
• Required to work retail hours including nights and weekends.

• Frequent standing, walking, sitting, handling, reaching, climbing or balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.
• Lifting or moving more than 20 lbs occasionally.
• Varying color recognition required.
