As our portfolio of advanced VRF projects continues to expand, we are seeking an experienced VRF / Refrigerant Piping & Duct Superintendent to provide field leadership, drive project success, and help develop the next generation of skilled professionals.
This is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing the installation and coordination of VRF systems, refrigerant piping, and associated HVAC components. The ideal candidate is a hands‑on field leader who excels at planning, problem‑solving, team development, and executing projects safely, efficiently, and on schedule.
What You’ll Do Project & Field Leadership- Lead and coordinate field operations for commercial VRF, refrigerant piping, and ductwork installations
- Review and interpret construction drawings, specifications, submittals, schedules, and safety requirements
- Develop and manage Next Day Plans (NDPs) and Next Week Plans (NWPs) to maintain project momentum
- Plan and sequence work activities to achieve project milestones and productivity goals
- Coordinate effectively with Project Managers, Engineers, General Contractors, Vendors, and Subcontractors
- Identify and resolve field challenges while maintaining project schedules and quality standards
- Supervise, support, and develop foremen and field personnel
- Evaluate team performance and provide coaching to enhance productivity and craftsmanship
- Forecast manpower requirements and assist with labor planning and cost management
- Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, safety, and continuous improvement
- Conduct performance evaluations and support employee development initiatives
- Ensure all work meets company standards, project specifications, and applicable codes
- Enforce safety policies and promote a proactive safety culture on every jobsite
- Track project progress and provide timely production updates and field reports
- Maintain accurate records for scheduling, labor hours, production, equipment, and materials
- Oversee material procurement and equipment planning for successful project startup and execution
- Manage company tools, equipment, and jobsite resources to maximize efficiency and productivity
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience leading VRF and refrigerant piping installations on commercial construction projects
- Strong understanding of HVAC systems, refrigerant distribution, and mechanical coordination
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and project documentation
- Experience with material takeoffs, procurement planning, scheduling, and workforce forecasting
- Demonstrated success supervising teams of 5–20+ field employees
- Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and field decision-making skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel for reporting, scheduling, and project documentation
- Working knowledge of sheet metal systems and ductwork coordination
- Bilingual English/Spanish communication skills
- Experience working on large-scale commercial HVAC projects
- Leadership style focused on mentorship, accountability, and team development
