The role involves supporting and delivering Family Time contact sessions across locality delivery points, ensuring children are kept safe and their emotional wellbeing is safeguarded. You will work directly with children and families to promote positive experiences and outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Support and supervise safe and effective Family Time contact sessions (1:1, group, community and timetabled sessions).
Observe, monitor and record family interactions, completing Family Time reports that may be used in court.
Engage children and families through play activities and early intervention support.
Provide transport for Family Time sessions when required.
Work closely with Social Workers, Early Help teams and other professionals in line with local authority policies.
Identify safeguarding concerns, manage risk and take appropriate action to protect children.
Deliver inclusive parent and child activities that support learning, development and wellbeing.
Provide basic advice and guidance to parents, modelling positive parenting and age-appropriate interaction.
Promote locality services and raise awareness within the local community.
Maintain accurate records and follow confidentiality, safeguarding and data protection procedures.
Support volunteers and work effectively as part of a wider team.
Key Requirements
Experience working with children, young people and families, ideally within a safeguarding or early help setting.
Good understanding of safeguarding, risk management and child development.
Ability to observe, assess and accurately record family interactions.
Strong communication skills and ability to work with families and professionals.
Flexible approach to working across different community settings.
Willingness to participate in supervision, appraisals and ongoing professional development.
Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (desirable, due to transport requirements).
Contract Length: 3-6 months with a view to extend to an ongoing contract.
Pay Rate: £14-£18 (Negotiable DOE)
Working pattern - 37 hours per week (Monday-Friday)
