Location:

Merseyside
Salary: £40,000 - £45,000 + Benefits

Shift: 08:45 – 17:00, Monday to Friday

We are seeking an experienced PSV Technician to join a well‑established transport operator based in Merseyside. You will be responsible for the routine maintenance, inspection, and repair of a fleet of passenger service vehicles, ensuring they remain safe, reliable, and fully operational throughout the day.

Key Responsibilities
Carry out scheduled preventative maintenance checks and inspections on vehicles, including engines, transmissions, braking systems, steering, electrical systems, and bodywork.

Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults efficiently.

Provide roadside assistance and recovery when required, ensuring minimal disruption to services.

Complete routine servicing such as oil changes, filter replacements, and lubrication.

Identify and report major defects or recurring issues to the workshop supervisor or engineering lead.

Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair work.

Follow all health and safety regulations, company policies, and environmental standards.

Work collaboratively with technicians and operational staff to support fleet availability.

Keep the workshop and surrounding areas clean, tidy, and well‑organised.

Qualifications & Experience
A recognised apprenticeship or equivalent qualification in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance, Automotive Engineering, or a related field.

Previous experience as a PSV, HGV, or commercial vehicle Technician/Fitter is preferred.

Strong diagnostic and problem‑solving skills across mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.

Competent in the use of diagnostic equipment and workshop tools.

A full, clean UK Driving Licence is essential. A PCV (Category

D) licence is desirable, or willingness to obtain one.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast‑paced environment.

Good communication skills and strong attention to detail.

Flexibility to work additional shifts, including weekends or public holidays, if required.
