About the Role

Our client, a prominent hotel in the vibrant area of Soweto , is looking for a proactive and responsible Hotel Duty Manager to oversee hotel operations during specific shifts. This role is essential for ensuring the smooth functioning of all departments, maintaining service standards, and responding effectively to any operational challenges or guest needs that arise. You will act as the senior on-site representative, demonstrating leadership and problem-solving skills to uphold the hotel's reputation for excellent service and guest satisfaction.

• Assume responsibility for the overall hotel operations during assigned shifts, acting as the senior manager on duty.
• Supervise and support Front Desk, Housekeeping, F&B, and Security staff to ensure seamless service delivery.
• Respond to and resolve guest complaints and operational issues in a timely and professional manner.
• Conduct regular inspections of hotel facilities to ensure standards of cleanliness, safety, and presentation are maintained.
• Assist in the implementation of hotel policies and procedures, ensuring compliance by all staff.
• Coordinate with department heads to ensure efficient communication and operational synergy.
• Handle cash management, including floats and daily reconciliations, as required.

• Proven experience in a supervisory or management role within the hotel industry, ideally with experience in Soweto or surrounding areas.
• Strong understanding of hotel operations across various departments.
• Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Ability to remain calm and effective under pressure and manage emergency situations.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with guests and staff.
