Mine Geologist - Exploration

Our client is looking for a motivated and field-oriented Mine Geologist specializing in exploration to join their team in Soweto . This role is critical for discovering and evaluating new mineral resources, conducting detailed geological mapping, and supervising drilling programs. You will play a key part in identifying promising geological targets and contributing to the company's resource pipeline. This position offers a fantastic opportunity for a geologist to gain hands-on experience in exploration geology within a dynamic operational context.

• Conduct geological mapping, sampling, and geochemical surveys in exploration areas.
• Log diamond drill core and reverse circulation samples, identifying lithologies, alteration, and mineralization.
• Assist in the design and supervision of exploration drilling programs.
• Compile and interpret geological data to build 3D models of subsurface geology and potential ore bodies.
• Contribute to the preparation of geological reports, resource estimates, and exploration recommendations.
• Work collaboratively with other geologists and geophysicists to assess exploration targets.

• Bachelor's degree in Geology or Earth Sciences.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in mineral exploration geology.
• Hands‑on experience with core logging, geological mapping, and sampling techniques.
• Familiarity with geological modeling software (e.g., Leapfrog, ArcGIS).
• Understanding of geochemical exploration principles.
• Ability to work effectively both in the field and in an office environment, in and around Soweto.
