About the Role

Our client is looking for enthusiastic and safety-conscious individuals to train as Apprentice Welders in Soweto . This apprenticeship provides a comprehensive hands-on training program to develop the skills necessary for fabricating, joining, and repairing metal structures and components. Under the guidance of experienced welders, you will learn various welding techniques, safety procedures, and how to interpret technical drawings. We seek candidates with a strong practical aptitude, a dedication to precision, and a commitment to building a successful career in a skilled trade essential to numerous industries.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist experienced welders in fabricating, assembling, and repairing metal structures and equipment.
  • Learn and practice various welding techniques (e.g., MIG, TIG, Stick) safely and effectively.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and welding specifications.
  • Prepare metal surfaces for welding by cleaning, grinding, and cutting.
  • Operate welding equipment and related tools with precision and care.
  • Ensure all work meets quality standards and adheres strictly to safety protocols.
Requirements
  • Grade 12 certificate or equivalent, with a strong preference for passes in Mathematics and Physical Science.
  • Demonstrated manual dexterity and a strong interest in metalwork and fabrication.
  • Ability to understand and follow technical instructions and safety guidelines.
  • Good physical health, including the ability to work in various positions and environments.
  • A commitment to safety and a willingness to learn new skills.
  • Reliability and a strong work ethic are essential.
