About the Role
Our client is seeking a skilled and customer-oriented Telecoms Broadband Technician to join their field operations team serving the Soweto area. This role is essential for the installation, maintenance, and repair of broadband internet services, ensuring customers receive reliable and high-speed connectivity. You will be the primary point of contact for technical issues at customer locations, requiring excellent troubleshooting skills and a commitment to delivering exceptional service.
This hands‑on position is ideal for individuals who enjoy working in a dynamic field environment and making a direct impact on customer satisfaction.
- Install, configure, and activate broadband internet services at residential and business customer premises.
- Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to internet connectivity, Wi‑Fi, and associated equipment.
- Perform routine maintenance and upgrades on customer premise equipment (CPE) and network drop points.
- Test network performance and signal strength to ensure optimal service delivery.
- Educate customers on their service setup, usage, and basic troubleshooting steps.
- Adhere strictly to safety protocols and company policies while on customer sites.
- Accurately document all service calls, including technical findings and actions taken.
- Previous experience as a Broadband Technician , Cable Technician, or similar role.
- Solid understanding of broadband technologies (DSL, Cable, Fiber) and home networking (routers, Wi‑Fi).
- Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and testing equipment.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills for effective customer interaction.
- Must possess a valid driver's license and maintain a clean driving record.
