Field Electrical Engineer

About the Role

Our client is looking for a proactive and adaptable Field Electrical Engineer to join their operational team based in Soweto . This position is crucial for providing on-site technical support, troubleshooting, and installation oversight for our electrical systems and equipment. You will work directly with our operational teams and clients to ensure the seamless functioning of our electrical infrastructure. This role requires a hands-on approach and regular travel within the designated service area, offering direct experience with diverse electrical challenges.

• Perform on-site installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical equipment and systems.
• Diagnose and resolve complex electrical issues and equipment failures in the field.
• Provide technical guidance and support to installation crews and maintenance teams.
• Conduct site surveys and assessments to plan for future electrical upgrades and maintenance.
• Ensure all field work complies with safety regulations, project specifications, and quality standards.
• Prepare detailed reports on site activities, findings, and recommendations.

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a field engineering or technical support role.
• Strong knowledge of electrical systems, power distribution, and industrial controls.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical schematics and technical manuals.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently under pressure.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel extensively within the service region.
