About the Role
Our client is seeking a technically adept Field Service Engineer specializing in chemical applications to support their customer base in and around Soweto and surrounding regions. This role involves providing on-site technical support, installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting for sophisticated chemical processing equipment. You will be the primary technical point of contact for clients, ensuring their satisfaction and the optimal performance of installed systems.
This position requires extensive travel within the Gauteng area and offers a dynamic career for engineers who enjoy hands‑on problem‑solving and direct client interaction.
- Perform installation, commissioning, and routine maintenance of chemical processing equipment at customer sites.
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and process-related issues on client equipment.
- Provide technical training and support to customer personnel on equipment operation and maintenance.
- Respond promptly to customer service requests and emergency calls to minimize downtime.
- Document all service activities, including repairs, maintenance performed, and recommendations for upgrades.
- Collaborate with the sales and engineering teams to ensure customer needs are met effectively.
- Degree or National Diploma in Chemical Engineering , Mechanical Engineering, or Electrical Engineering.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in field service, technical support, or maintenance roles, preferably within the chemical industry.
- Strong understanding of chemical processing equipment , pumps, valves, and control systems.
- Proficiency in reading technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
- Excellent diagnostic and problem‑solving skills with a customer‑centric approach.
- Willingness to travel extensively within the designated service territory near Soweto .
