About the Role
Our client is seeking a dedicated Field Installation Specialist with a focus on security systems to join their team serving the Soweto area. This role involves the professional installation, configuration, and testing of various security technologies, including access control, CCTV, and alarm systems, at residential and commercial properties. You will be the primary point of contact for clients on-site, ensuring installations are completed to the highest standards and providing basic system familiarization.
The ideal candidate possesses strong technical skills in security system installation, excellent customer service abilities, and a commitment to safety and reliability within the Gauteng region. This is a customer-facing, field-based position.
- Install and configure security systems such as CCTV cameras , access control readers, and alarm panels.
- Run and terminate low-voltage cables for security system components.
- Test and commission installed systems, ensuring all components function correctly and meet specifications.
- Troubleshoot and resolve installation-related issues, making necessary adjustments.
- Provide basic training and handover to clients on system operation and features.
- Maintain accurate installation records, work orders, and site reports.
- Proven experience in installing and servicing security systems (e.g., alarm systems, CCTV, access control).
- Strong understanding of low-voltage wiring, electronics, and network basics as they apply to security systems.
- Ability to read and interpret system diagrams and installation manuals.
- Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Must hold a valid driver's license and have a reliable means of transportation.
