General Maintenance Worker

Our client is looking for a versatile and dependable General Maintenance Worker to support their operations in Soweto . This role is hands-on and requires an individual capable of performing a variety of basic maintenance tasks to ensure facilities are kept in good repair and operational order. You will be responsible for general upkeep, minor repairs, and assisting skilled tradespeople as needed.

The ideal candidate is a proactive problem-solver with a strong work ethic and a commitment to maintaining a safe and functional environment for the Soweto community and its operations.

• Perform routine inspections and general maintenance tasks on buildings and grounds.
• Respond to and complete minor repair requests, such as fixing leaky faucets, repairing doors, or patching small holes.
• Assist skilled tradespeople (electricians, plumbers, carpenters) with their tasks as required.
• Perform basic carpentry, painting, and groundskeeping duties.
• Ensure that work areas are kept clean, organized, and safe.
• Identify potential maintenance issues and report them to the supervisor promptly.
• Operate and maintain basic maintenance tools and equipment safely.

• Proven experience in a General Maintenance role or a related field.
• Ability to perform a wide range of basic repair and upkeep tasks.
• Basic knowledge of carpentry, plumbing, and electrical systems is beneficial.
• Strong manual dexterity and physical stamina.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Good communication skills and a willingness to learn.
• Must be reliable and punctual, serving the Soweto area.
