The Associate Administrator is responsible for student attendance, athletics, classified staff, and handling student discipline problems. Preferred candidates will have a range of experience in grades 9-12 and demonstrated knowledge of effective practices used to reach the needs of all students, with particular expertise in improving instruction and student achievement.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS- Supports principal in building management, student discipline, and parent communication.
- Assists the principal and staff in the efficient handling of the day‑to‑day building operations.
- Serves as a liaison in planning, communicating and coordinating a variety of building activities and/or programs.
- Act as primary evaluator for classified and athletics staff within the school.
- Provides leadership and support in creating a safe school environment that is conducive to learning.
- Serves as a referral source for disciplinary problems. Evaluates the nature of the problem and initiates corrective actions or refers the problem to the appropriate authority.
- Establishes and maintains standards of student behavior to achieve an effective learning atmosphere.
- Reviews attendance reports to identify absenteeism problems and truancies, counsels with students, teachers, administrators, and parents to clarify attendance problems and assists with determining satisfactory solutions.
- Conducts a variety of committee meetings and attends selected school and community activities both during and after school.
- Assists in identifying district and community resources for school programs.
- Works collaboratively with principal and staff to implement the School Improvement Plan, including professional development.
- Develops and maintains effective professional relationships with staff, students and community.
- Demonstrates understanding of and models a variety of appropriate strategies in effectively interacting with staff, students and parents and uses effective, creative approaches to resolving conflict situations.
- Works closely with the Principal, leads and facilitates building‑level professional development focused on student learning and communicates professional development activities.
- Provides mentoring support for new teachers.
- Assists in facilitating the school's early intervention services (e.g., grade level teams, PLCs, RTI, etc.) to support students in receiving targeted academic support.
- Supports principal in the analysis of student performance data.
- Participates in district training and principal academies.
- Performs appropriate tasks as designated by the Principal in relation to the responsibilities listed above.
- Evaluates teachers as assigned. Training will be provided.
- Assumes full responsibility for conducting an interscholastic athletic program – scheduling, event management, tickets, security, coach evaluations, hiring and assignment of coaches, professional development of coaches, Title IX compliance, transportation, building facility management, purchasing equipment, monitoring ASB budgets and inventory, attending league meetings and administrative support of the total program.
- Evaluates all coaches.
- Maintains student & coach data – clearance of all student‑athletes and monitoring coaches’ compliance with WIAA, district and building policies while maintaining records in accordance with state law.
- Incorporates the athletic program into the total educational program for the district.
- Oversees and monitors programs such as the student ASB program, clubs, and activities.
- Assumes responsibility for building safety – scheduling of campus safety staff, evaluation of campus safety, implementation of district safety policy and procedure, safety protocol professional development for athletic coaches, building staff, and campus safety.
- Coordinates all athletic events and their involvement as pertaining to WIAA and league affiliation, assists in the development of schedules, WIAA regulations and building policies, attends league meetings when necessary, works to ensure the athletic program provides equal opportunity for both genders, cooperates with other district and building programs, and makes decisions in the best interest of all…
