The Bethel School District is seeking teacher applicants with the potential to be leaders and innovative educators. Successful candidates will demonstrate the ability to deliver instruction based on best available research and practices in teaching and learning.

GENERAL SUMMARY

The Title I/LAP Basic Skills position is a master teacher with excellent instructional and communication skills. The incumbent provides assistance to district Title I & LAP staff in implementing effective and compliant programs; collaborates with teachers and para-educators on the development and implementation of performance learning and assessment frameworks, content modifications and accommodations to support diverse learners; assesses staff development needs, coordinates district‑level staff training, assists in program development, budgeting, application preparation, program reviews, and resource allocation.

MINIMUM

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Washington State teaching credential with appropriate endorsement(s): ELEMENTARY K‑8.
  • Masters degree preferred.
  • Demonstrated desire and ability to work and communicate effectively with staff, students and parents from diverse backgrounds.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Comply with state and federal Title I/LAP policies and laws.
  • Analyze student achievement data, administer assessments, and monitor progress for students receiving intervention instruction/services.
  • Coordinate and plan student intervention programs aligned with state and local learning standards, collaborating with teachers, administrators, directors, and parents.
  • Facilitate parent involvement activities that build school‑to‑home connections to support Title I/LAP programs.
  • Maintain accurate student records, parent communications, and progress reports.
  • Attend professional development opportunities to enhance instructional strategies and resource materials for intervention programs.
  • Perform other duties assigned by the Director of Support Services.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all personal, student, and personnel records.
  • Model and co‑teach lessons to improve literacy outcomes for program‑struggling students and meet ELA standards.
Education and Experience

Must meet Washington State and federal learning standards specific to this position.

Licenses/Special Requirements
  • Successful completion of criminal justice fingerprint and background check.
CONDITIONS

Required to manage a wide range of student achievement and behavior, handle frequent interruptions, and perform multiple tasks simultaneously. Employees may encounter distraught students, parents, staff, and potential exposure to infectious diseases.

Physical Demands

The position requires regular use of voice, hearing, and computer equipment. The employee must stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl, climb, and reach throughout the day, frequently perform repetitive arm/hand motions, and occasionally lift or move items over 30 pounds. Vision requirements include close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and focus adjustment. Nearest stairs or elevator use may be required.
