4th Grade 5th Grade Special Education Teacher in Spanaway, WA

Multiple positions are available across K-5 and Preschool settings for passionate educators who are ready to start immediately and continue through February, with the potential for contract extensions. Openings include both Independent Learning and Structured Classroom environments, allowing you to apply your expertise where it matters most.

• Deliver individualized instruction and support to students in Preschool through 5th Grade Special Education programs
• Design engaging lesson plans tailored to students' unique learning needs and abilities
• Foster an inclusive and supportive classroom atmosphere to encourage growth and confidence
• Collaborate closely with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and service providers to implement student IEPs
• Consistently communicate with families and participate in IEP meetings to ensure holistic student progress
• Utilize creative problem-solving and adaptive strategies to overcome learning barriers
• Maintain accurate records and track student development in accordance with district and state mandates

• Valid Special Education Teaching Certification (or eligibility to obtain)
• Previous experience supporting elementary students in Special Education settings (K-5 or Preschool)
• Strong understanding of individualized education plans (IEPs) and behavior intervention strategies
• Demonstrated ability to establish positive relationships with students, staff, and families
• Excellent communication, organization, and classroom management skills
• Flexibility and adaptability to various classroom structures (Independent and Structured)
