About the Role
As the first point of contact for most clients, Tellers play a key role in delivering on the bank's Breakthrough Client Service Standards.
Under the guidance of the Branch Manager and Assistant Branch Manager, the Teller's primary responsibility is to ensure banking transactions are performed accurately, ethically, and in compliance with Columbia Bank procedures and banking regulations.
They maintain and enhance client relationships through meaningful conversations that uncover client needs and identify opportunities to provide additional bank products and services.
Always perform teller transactions and cash handling functions for clients with accuracy and confidentiality. Standard transactions include: deposits, withdrawals, cash advances, payments, transfers, check cashing, and balancing the cash drawer.
Daily tasks that maintain the integrity of the branch include: using double custody for ATM balancing, processing night drop deposits, balancing negotiable instruments, processing returned mail, balancing the credit card machine, and updating lobby rate sheets and brochures.
Mitigate risk by ensuring safekeeping of money in the cash drawer and promptly accounting for or transferring funds.
Interacts with external and internal clients, anticipates needs, and consistently provides proactive solutions and problem resolutions in alignment with the bank’s Breakthrough Client Service Standards.
Continuously deepens knowledge of Columbia Bank's product and service offerings, stays current on changes, and discusses customers’ financial needs to identify and offer appropriate products and services.
Supports referral goals for the branch by focusing on, identifying, and referring basic bank products to the appropriate business partner.
About YouQualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED, required.
- 1 year of previous banking or customer service experience, preferred.
- Bilingual preferred.
- Ability to learn and comply with all Bank policies, procedures, and systems.
- Demonstrates exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in written numbers, words, and verbal and written instructions.
- Consistently demonstrates ability and willingness to build relationships with clients and other bank associates.

Pay Range: $18.00 - $23.00 per hour.
Performance-based incentive compensation may be available; details will be provided during the recruitment process.

Benefit eligibility begins the first day of the month following the date of hire for associates scheduled to work at least thirty hours weekly.
