The Bethel School District is seeking SLP applicants who have the potential to be leaders and innovative educators. Successful candidates will demonstrate the ability to deliver instruction based upon best available research and practices in teaching and learning.
General SummarySpeech Language Pathologists provide speech, language, hearing and augmentative communication services for individuals and small groups in developmental and remedial settings; consult with parents and teachers of children with communication disabilities; provide consultation and related services for students needing accommodations in school settings.
Minimum Qualifications- Washington State ESA certification for Speech Language Pathologist required.
- Master’s degree and ESA Certification in Speech-Language Pathology. (CFY supervision is available).
- Working knowledge of Washington State rules and regulations for disabled students (WAC).
- Demonstrated desire and ability to work effectively with staff, students and parents from diverse cultural backgrounds.
- Experience and training in diagnosis and therapeutic intervention of articulation, expressive and receptive language, fluency, and voice with students age 3 - 21.
- Working knowledge of strategies and accommodations to support students in inclusion settings.
- Ability to collaborate positively with general education and special education staff, parents and administrators.
- Experience with a variety of diagnostic instruments appropriate for students.
- Skill and experience working with students who use augmentative and adaptive communication strategies and devices.
- Experience in writing Individual Education Programs (IEP), including working knowledge of social and behavioral language goals, specific task analysis skills, and ability to write measurable annual goals and objectives.
- Ability to participate as an effective member of the IEP team.
- Completion and maintenance of CCCs in SLP is preferred.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule and travel between buildings.
