Position OverviewPorter – Asset Living
Join Asset Living as a porter and be the essential keeper of our community’s daily maintenance, cleanliness, and safety. The role supports the Maintenance Supervisor and Community Manager in keeping both interior and exterior common areas in top condition.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities- Community Maintenance – daily on‑site attendance and upkeep of grounds, buildings, breezeways, and common areas.
- Respond to resident/management requests and work orders in a timely manner.
- Inspect grounds, buildings and other community features daily to identify, minimize, and correct hazardous conditions or liability concerns.
- Assist in maintaining a preventative maintenance program to extend the life of the property while minimizing future repairs.
- Run, maintain, and stock the maintenance shop, adhering to safety standards and OSHA guidelines.
- Assist the Maintenance Supervisor in maintaining the hazard communications program and teach/promote safe work practices.
- Participate in unit inspections and report violations to supervisors.
- Use property resources, equipment, and supplies efficiently.
- Perform additional tasks as requested by the Maintenance Supervisor and Community Manager.
- Participate in on‑call emergency service for the community.
- Deliver excellent customer service and monitor response times for service requests.
- Project a favorable image of the community to achieve property objectives.
- Enforce community policies delegated by the supervisor.
- High School Diploma or Equivalent.
- Basic computer skills and familiarity with on‑site software functions.
- Basic knowledge of Fair Housing Laws and OSHA requirements.
- Regular movement between work sites and traversing flat and uneven terrain.
- Ascent and descent of ladders, stairs, ramps, and step stools; overhead and reaching motions; lifting and moving objects up to 100+ lbs, operating machinery and power tools.
- Work in various environments, including tight confined spaces; standing or sitting for prolonged periods; operation of motor vehicles and golf carts; exposure to outdoor weather elements and hazardous chemicals; work overtime, weekends, and night hours as needed.
Compensation and Benefits
– This role offers a salary range of $18 per hour to $20 per hour and a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, life, accidental, and disability insurance, a 401(k) with employer matching, and potential commission and performance bonuses. Full‑time employees receive paid sick days and company holidays.
At Asset Living, compensation is based on skill set, background, training, and certifications. Our offer is supplemented by the total rewards package.
