Bethel Schools Substitute Counselor/Social Worker

Bethel Schools is seeking certificated counselor/social worker applicants for substitute opportunities. Minimum qualifications must hold a valid Washington State ESA certificate as Counselor or Social Worker. Successful substitute experience preferred. Preferred knowledge/experience working in areas of: substance abuse prevention/intervention, child abuse, ADD/ADHD, suicide prevention/intervention, violence prevention education (Second Step), parent support and education, and anger management. Ability to commit to and be flexible within the full long-term substitute assignment.

Responsibilities include following all plans and other instructions provided by the counselor/social worker and/or school, assuming responsibility for duties assigned to the regular counselor/social worker, providing support to meet the social, emotional, and physical needs of students - support may include classroom, small group, and individual work, fostering a positive attitude and communicating effectively with students, parents, and staff including those from ethnically, culturally, and economically diverse backgrounds, working collaboratively within school and district to support all students, creating a safe and positive environment to best serve all students, utilizing effective human relations and/or communication skills, completing necessary paperwork in a timely manner, demonstrating effective classroom management, maintaining up-to-date knowledge of research-based best practices, being conscientious about equipment, instructional materials, records, and reports, remaining on duty and available during the professional workday, communicating with the regular counselor/social worker, either by telephone and/or in writing, supporting building with master schedule, vocational/career counseling, test administration, attendance, 504s.

If applicable, ability to provide and adhere to the above via remote learning. Other duties as assigned.
