ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS All Material Handlers
  • Operates a lift truck by driving backwards and twisting to be able to look in the direction of travel on a continual basis.
  • Operates a lift truck all shift.
  • Performs routine inspections on vehicles and auxiliary equipment, such as cleaning or recharging batteries, and refers defects or repairs to supervisor/maintenance.
  • Moves controls to drive battery-powered lift trucks and transports materials between loading, unloading, processing, and storage areas.
  • Moves levers and controls that operate lifting devices, such as forklifts, lift beams and swivel-hooks, hoists, and elevating platforms, to load, unload, transport, and stack material.
  • Positions lifting devices under, over, or around loaded pallets, skids, and boxes, and secures material or products for transport to designated areas.
  • Manually loads or unloads materials onto or off pallets, skids, platforms, or lifting devices.
  • Reliable attendance at scheduled shifts.
  • Performs all duties in conformance to appropriate safety and security standards.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned or needed.
Unloader
  • Unloads products from inbound carriers.
  • Verifies that the product received is identified and counted accurately.
  • Inspects condition of all received product.
  • Moves and places product safely and securely in its proper storage location.
Preloader
  • Receives and reads preload orders.
  • Fills orders by accurately picking product from storage and staging that product on a spot utilizing stacking guideline.
  • Inspects and loads trucks and arranges the products within the cube of the trailer according to recommended loading practices and guidelines.
  • Uses scanning device and computer as needed to perform tasks.
Truck Loaders
  • Inspect trailers before loading products.
  • Counts units on preload spot and compares with shipping documents.
  • Moves products from the preload spot, and directly from storage when required, into the trailer.
  • Arranges the products within the cube of the trailer according to recommended loading practices and guidelines.
  • Properly secures the load for travel.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
  • Attendance – Ability to work required schedule and arrive at work on time, including voluntary/mandatory overtime to meet daily workload.
  • Communication – Ability to effectively communicate in writing and verbally in a courteous and professional manner with others; understand and follow verbal and written instruction.
  • Mathematics – Ability to perform basic math (addition, subtraction, multiplication and division) in all units of measure using whole numbers, fractions and decimals.
  • Language – Ability to identify and compare letters and numbers; read and interpret documents such as receivers, invoices, operating instructions and procedure manuals; read and write simple sentences.
  • Diversity Oriented – Ability to work effectively with people regardless of age, gender, race, ethnicity, religion, or job type.
  • Relationship Building – Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with customers, co‑workers and management.

  • Paperwork – Completion – Ability to complete necessary paperwork neatly and accurately and according to established guidelines; properly count, document or scan units as needed.
  • Paperwork – Verification – Ability to verify paperwork to ensure customers receive correct product and inspect condition of product received and shipped to ensure quality.

  • Accuracy – Ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly.

SKILLS & ABILITIES
  • Education:

    High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED) preferred.
  • Experience:

    Two (2) years related experience in warehouse or manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Computer

    Skills:

    Basic computer or tablet skills; hand‑held radio.
  • Certificates & Licenses:
    Forklift Certification preferred;
    Valid Driver’s License.
