Build the Plan. Win the Work. Shape What Comes Next.

We’re looking for a Preconstruction Manager who knows that great projects are won long before the first shovel hits the ground. This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing, highly respected construction team in Spanish Fork, Utah , where your expertise will directly influence the projects pursued, the strategies behind them, and the success of the business.

With a compensation range of $120,000-$160,000 , this role is built for a seasoned construction professional who can bring together estimating, budgeting, scheduling, subcontractor relationships, client communication, and strategic thinking. You’ll be the person in the room asking the right questions, spotting opportunities, identifying risk, and turning a set of plans into a smart, competitive path forward.

The Opportunity

As the Preconstruction Manager , you’ll take ownership of the preconstruction process from initial opportunity through project handoff. You’ll work closely with owners, architects, engineers, estimators, project managers, subcontractors, and leadership to develop accurate budgets, build effective project strategies, and position the company to win the right work.

This isn’t a role where you simply shuffle numbers around a spreadsheet. You’ll have a meaningful voice in how projects are pursued, priced, planned, and ultimately delivered .

You’ll evaluate drawings and specifications, coordinate estimating efforts, develop conceptual budgets, analyze scope, manage bid processes, identify value-engineering opportunities, and help create proposals that stand out from the crowd. When challenges arise, you’ll be expected to bring solutions, not just red flags.

What You’ll Do
  • Lead and manage the full preconstruction process from pursuit through project turnover.
  • Review plans, specifications, drawings, scopes, schedules, and other project documentation.
  • Develop conceptual, schematic, and detailed construction budgets.
  • Coordinate estimating activities and ensure estimates are accurate, competitive, and complete.
  • Partner with executive leadership to evaluate potential projects and pursue opportunities aligned with company goals.
  • Develop detailed bid strategies and solicit competitive subcontractor and vendor pricing.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, consultants, owners, architects, and engineers.
  • Analyze subcontractor bids, scope coverage, exclusions, qualifications, and pricing.
  • Identify potential project risks, cost exposures, constructability concerns, and scheduling challenges before they become expensive problems.
  • Participate in design development and constructability reviews.
  • Provide meaningful value-engineering recommendations that improve cost, schedule, quality, and overall project performance.
  • Coordinate with architects, engineers, owners, and design teams throughout the preconstruction process.
  • Prepare budgets, bid summaries, estimates, proposals, presentations, and other client-facing materials.
  • Participate in client interviews and presentations when pursuing new work.
  • Develop preliminary schedules and collaborate with project teams on realistic project sequencing.
  • Assist with procurement planning and long-lead material considerations.
  • Maintain accurate documentation throughout the preconstruction process.
  • Support contract negotiations and project scope development.
  • Conduct post-bid reviews and lessons-learned discussions to continually improve estimating and pursuit strategies.
  • Provide a seamless transition from preconstruction to operations, ensuring the project team receives a clear understanding of budget, scope, schedule, assumptions, and commitments.
  • Help mentor and develop estimating and preconstruction personnel as the team continues to grow.
What We’re Looking For

We’re searching for someone who combines construction knowledge with business sense . You understand how projects are actually built, but you also understand that successful preconstruction requires communication, strategy, relationships, and an eye for the bigger picture.
