Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site Asphalt Laborer and Equipment Operator role located in Spanish Fork, UT. The role involves assisting with asphalt paving, patching, and maintenance, including preparing work areas, loading and unloading materials, and performing manual labor such as shoveling, raking, and sweeping. The equipment operator responsibilities include safely operating asphalt-related machinery and vehicles, such as rollers, compactors, skid steers, and other paving equipment, under the direction of a foreperson or supervisor.

Day-to-day tasks include following safety procedures, performing basic equipment checks and maintenance, setting up and removing traffic control as needed, and working collaboratively with the crew to complete projects on schedule. The position requires working outdoors in varying weather conditions and may involve occasional overtime to meet project demands.

Qualifications
  • Ability to perform physical labor, including lifting, bending, standing for extended periods, and working in outdoor environments.
  • Experience operating construction or asphalt equipment (e.g., rollers, compactors, skid steers) or willingness to learn under supervision.
  • Strong attention to safety, including following company safety policies, using personal protective equipment, and maintaining situational awareness on job sites.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude for conducting simple equipment inspections, reporting issues, and assisting with routine maintenance.
  • Reliable work ethic, punctuality, and ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team in a fast-paced setting.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record; experience driving trucks or hauling equipment is a plus.
  • Previous experience in asphalt, paving, construction, or related trades is preferred but not required; on-the-job training may be provided.
  • High school diploma or equivalent is beneficial.
