Job Description & How to Apply Below
Position: Structural Project Engineer (PE)

As a Structural Project Engineer (PE) at Atlas, you are the technical anchor for project teams: you guide design decisions, mentor EITs and students, support client communication, and help position our work for repeat business. This role is primarily a technical lead today, with a clear path into broader leadership as the firm continues to grow.

Responsibilities

· Perform and oversee structural analysis, design, and calculations for building and site structures.

· Review and stamp (as appropriate) structural drawings and details for quality and code compliance.

· Provide QA/QC review of work prepared by EITs, students, and drafting/BIM staff.

· Coordinate with architects, civil engineers, and contractors to resolve design and constructability issues.

· Support construction administration, respond to RFIs, and review submittals as needed.

· Help keep projects on track with respect to scope, schedule, and budgeted hours.

· Actively mentor and train junior engineers and student staff in both technical skills and professional habits.

Qualifications

· Active Professional Engineer (PE) license in a relevant jurisdiction (or ability to obtain in Utah)

· 4+ years of structural engineering experience in buildings or related structures

· Strong technical proficiency in structural design (steel, concrete, wood, and/or masonry)

· Experience preparing and reviewing structural plans, details, and calculations

· Ability to communicate clearly with clients, contractors, and internal teams—verbally and in writing

· Interest and comfort in participating in business development activities (client meetings, proposals, relationship building)

· Proven ability to collaborate, give and receive feedback, and help train/mentor junior staff

· Positive, low-ego, team-first mindset aligned with a fun, high‑energy, growth culture

· Serve as technical lead on assigned structural projects, from concept through construction.

Additional Information

Atlas is growing quickly and we're intentional about building a team of leaders, not just doers. This PE role includes:

· 401(k) retirement plan

· Health insurance

· Profit sharing

· Paid Time Off (PTO)

· Structured training and support for continued PE/SE development

· Opportunity to shape standards, systems, and project delivery in a rapidly growing firm

· Clear path to grow into senior technical and leadership roles
