Things You'll Do
- Champion Suncore's vision and core values while promoting a culture of safety throughout the Wasatch Front area.
- Ensure a safe and healthy work environment for employees across a variety of operations.
- Lead and develop a small team of safety professionals.
- Assist in developing, implementing, and administering company safety policies, procedures, and programs.
- Participate and lead incident investigations and root cause analyses for major incidents and losses.
- Serve as the subject matter expert for OSHA, MSHA, DOT compliance, insurance claims management, and other safety-related matters.
- Develop and deliver safety training.
- Regularly visit project sites and facilities to partner with site leadership in strengthening the safety culture.
- Review and manage documentation related to incident reporting, safety inspections, training, and compliance.
- Analyze safety trends to identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Effectively communicate safety expectations, train leaders, and drive continuous safety improvement.
- Maintain an insurable driving record.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Safety or a related field.
- 5+ years of professional safety experience.
- Experience developing and delivering safety training programs.
- Advanced knowledge of OSHA, MSHA, and DOT regulations.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent conflict resolution, leadership, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to analyze safety trends, identify risk patterns, and implement corrective actions.
- Associate Safety Professional (ASP) and/or Certified Safety Professional (CSP) certification preferred.
- Ability to travel frequently to job sites and work locations.
- Ability to work in varying site conditions and weather environments.
- Ability to perform work requiring medium physical activity, including exerting up to 40 pounds of force occasionally and repetitive motion associated with operating equipment.
