Arise Excavating is looking for an experienced Equipment Operator to join our growing team. We’re seeking a motivated, dependable individual with residential excavation experience who wants to grow with our company.
Requirements- Minimum of 2 years of residential excavation experience
- Experience with basement excavations
- Experience with back filling and compaction
- Experience with concrete grading
- Experience with installation of sewer, water, and power utilities
- Ability to efficiently operate an excavator
- Ability to efficiently operate a mini excavator
- Ability to efficiently operate a skid steer
- Ability to efficiently operate a wheel loader
- Ability to set grades and use a laser level accurately
We primarily work throughout Salt Lake County, Utah County, and Wasatch County.
Pay$27–$35 per hour, depending on experience (DOE).

- Operate heavy equipment such as excavators, skid steers, backhoes, and loaders safely and efficiently.
- Perform residential site preparation, including clearing, grading, and excavation for new home construction.
- Excavate for foundations, basements, crawl spaces, footings, and retaining walls according to site plans and specifications.
- Dig trenches for utility installation, including water, sewer, electrical, and drainage systems.
- Grade lots to ensure proper drainage and prepare surfaces for concrete, landscaping, and final site work.
- Load, move, and stockpile soil, gravel, and other construction materials.
- Read and interpret construction plans, grade stakes, and utility markings.
- Identify and avoid underground utilities while following safe digging practices.
- Conduct daily pre- and post-operation equipment inspections and report maintenance needs.
- Perform routine equipment maintenance, including fueling, greasing, and cleaning.
- Work closely with foremen, laborers, surveyors, and utility crews to complete projects on schedule.
- Maintain a safe work environment by following company policies and applicable safety regulations.
- Operate equipment in confined residential neighborhoods while minimizing damage to surrounding property.
- Assist with erosion control measures and site cleanup as needed.
- Accurately complete daily work logs, equipment inspection reports, and production records.
- Speak fluent English.
- Have a valid driver’s license.
- Have reliable personal transportation.
- Be able to lift up to 80 pounds.
- Pass a pre-employment drug screening.
- Preferred: CDL (Commercial Driver’s License).

Bilingual in English and Spanish.
