Job Type: Full-Time, 50 hour work week, 10 hour shifts – 5 days per week

Salary: $20 - $28 per hour

Our team is dedicated to delivering high-quality projects that enhance communities and improve the lives of residents. We are seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Operator to join our dynamic team.

Job Summary: The Heavy Equipment Operator will be responsible for operating various types of heavy machinery to assist in the construction and maintenance of infrastructure projects. This role requires expertise in operating equipment such as bulldozers, excavators, loaders, and graders, along with a strong focus on safety, efficiency, and quality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate heavy equipment including bulldozers, excavators, loaders, and graders to perform construction tasks such as excavation, grading, and site preparation.
  • Conduct pre-operational checks and regular maintenance on equipment to ensure optimal functionality and safety.
  • Interpret project plans and blueprints to execute tasks according to specifications and requirements.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors, project managers, and other team members to coordinate work activities and ensure project timelines are met.
  • Follow all safety protocols and regulations to maintain a safe work environment.
  • Perform manual labor tasks as needed, including lifting, carrying, and moving materials.
  • Troubleshoot and report any mechanical issues with equipment to the maintenance team.
  • Maintain accurate logs and records of equipment usage and maintenance activities.
  • Assist in training and mentoring junior operators or laborers.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Heavy Equipment Operator in the civil construction industry.
  • Thorough knowledge of construction site safety practices and procedures.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction plans and blueprints.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Physical stamina and the ability to work in various weather conditions.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with GPS and other navigation tools used in construction.
