We are seeking a motivated and hardworking Pipe Construction Worker to join our team and support our pipelayers in the field.

Job Summary: The Pipe Construction Worker will assist in the installation and repair of underground pipelines for various utilities, such as water, sewage, and storm drains. This role involves supporting pipelayers with tasks such as site preparation, material handling, and equipment operation. A strong work ethic, attention to detail, and commitment to safety are essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Clear construction sites by removing trash, setting up equipment, and ensuring the area is safe and ready for work.
  • Assist in digging and preparing trenches using hand tools and equipment, ensuring correct depth and width according to project specifications.
  • Load, unload, and transport pipes and related materials to the installation site.
  • Assist in positioning and aligning pipes in the trench, ensuring proper fit and adherence to project blueprints and specifications.
  • Apply sealing compounds and adhesives to pipe joints to ensure watertight connections.
  • Aid in the assembly and installation of pipe sections and fittings, securing them with appropriate tools and techniques.
  • Backfill trenches and compact soil around installed pipes to prevent shifting and ensure stability.
  • Learn and retain knowledge of skills performed during pipe installations.
  • Follow all safety protocols and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times to maintain a safe work environment.
  • Clean, maintain, and store tools and equipment properly after use.
  • Report any issues or obstacles encountered during tasks to the pipelayer or supervisor promptly.
  • Perform additional manual labor tasks as needed, including lifting, carrying, and moving materials to support overall project progress.
  • Help inspect installed pipelines for leaks or other issues, assisting in repairs as necessary.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in construction or a related field is preferred but not required.
  • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting heavy objects, standing for long periods, and working in various weather conditions.
  • Basic knowledge of construction site safety practices.
  • Ability to operate hand tools and basic construction equipment.
  • Strong work ethic and willingness to learn.
  • Reliable transportation to and from job sites.
  • Ability to follow directions and work effectively as part of a team.
  • Good communication skills and a positive attitude.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with specific construction equipment, such as trenchers or compactors.
