Overview
As an Accountant I, you will apply fundamental accounting principles to analyze financial information and prepare financial reports. You will compile and analyze financial information to record transactions, prepare reports, and verify accuracy. You will support control of accounts and records in areas such as cash application, disbursements, expenses (including accruals), and revenue, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and regulations.
Responsibilities- Compile and analyze financial information to accurately record transactions.
- Prepare and verify financial statements, reports, and reconciliations.
- Assist in the preparation of accounting schedules and reports.
- Ensure adherence to accounting and auditing policies and procedures.
- Provide support during internal and external audits.
- Analyze account variances and provide narrative explanations for management review.
- Review allocation coding on indirect purchase requests.
- Learn company processes and continually identify efficiencies and automation opportunities.
- Communicate financial information and findings to management.
- Collaborate cross‑departmentally in support of transactions.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 0–2 years of relevant accounting experience.
- Basic knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
- Proficiency with accounting software and MS Office, particularly Excel.
- Detail oriented with strong analytical abilities.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification, pursuing, or plan to pursue.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to adapt quickly in a fast‑paced environment.
- Previous exposure to automated accounting systems.
- Exposure to AI tools, including Microsoft Copilot.
- Work on a computer for extended periods.
- Communicate effectively orally and in writing in an office environment.
- May be required to travel.
- Lift up to 10 lbs regularly.
- Have hand/finger dexterity for data entry and document handling.
- Must be able to sit or stand for prolonged periods.
