Operations Manager
Overview
Q&D Construction, a top-ranked general contractor, is currently seeking an experienced Superintendent to be part of our Aviation Group team. Q&D's Aviation Group focuses on work in and at airports in the U.S. which includes new terminal buildings, support facilities, tenant improvements, equipment upgrades, vendor (concessionaire, leaseholder) build-outs, and airline-specific construction activities like branding and signage, gate relocations, ticketing and check-in configurations, and their back-of-house facilities at airports.
The Q&D team of project managers, project engineers, and superintendents work together in over 100 airports across the United States. Q&D works alongside our clients, within the framework and layers of regulations, restrictions and initiatives, to develop the most advantageous and cost-effective solution on their behalf. This position requires an extensive amount of travel and relocation to the project site.

Responsibilities- Communicate and reinforce the vision, values, and goals including IIF (Incident and Injury Free) safety program.
- Study contract documents to plan procedures for construction based on starting and completion times and staffing requirements for each phase; determine required tools, materials, construction equipment and certain permanent equipment and times to conform to work schedules.
- Confer with and direct supervisory personnel and subcontractors engaged in planning and executing work procedures, interpreting contract documents, and coordinating phases of construction; collaborate with supervisory and engineering personnel, inspectors, and suppliers to resolve problems and improve methods.
- Inspect work in progress to ensure quality workmanship that conforms to contract documents and adherence to construction schedules.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and Company safety policies and procedures and with Equal Employment Opportunity/Affirmative Action policies and procedures.
- Verify that products and methods used meet or exceed project specifications.
- Maintain open communication between all contractors to ensure required materials, equipment, inspections, etc. support project activities and schedule.
- Direct field construction activities, including working with Clients, Project Manager, and Project Engineer to determine methods of construction, sequencing, manpower levels, material quality, equipment, and work schedule; supervise all craft foremen and craft personnel.
- Project experience $20M+
- Must have 10+ years of experience in the construction industry.
- 5+ years of supervisory experience using similar construction methods, equipment and tools; ability to read and interpret construction documents.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills and the ability to supervise large teams.
- Aviation experience is a bonus but not required.
