What To Expect
Tesla is looking to hire a Manufacturing Engineering Technician to contribute to the development and deployment of specialized processes and equipment for our cutting-edge Battery products. Battery development is at the heart of our company, and this is an exciting opportunity to work directly on the central challenges with electric vehicles – battery cost and performance. Tesla is a demanding and fast-paced environment where you will work with a highly motivated team on extremely challenging projects.
WhatYou'll Do
- Regularly collaborate with Design and Manufacturing engineers
- Support development and optimization of manufacturing processes, quality controls and equipment specifications
- Support the installation and commissioning of electromechanical equipment
- Help develop training material, and train key personnel
- Support process and equipment validation, utilizing metrology, destructive, and non-destructive testing
- Help develop test criteria and collaborate on test fixture designs
- Maintain & pursue development equipment and facilities that are on the forefront of battery manufacturing technologies
- 2+ years’ work experience in a similar technical role
- Able to travel up to 30% in role
- Experience in high-volume manufacturing, transitioning complex products from prototype to production
- Proficient with hand-tools and fixture assembly
- Capability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally
- Experience in creating documentation and technical reports
- Understanding of electronic circuits and systems, conductors, isolators, dielectric materials, is a plus
- Experience with or exposure to CAD software 2D (AutoCAD) and 3D (Solid Works, CATIA) CAD is a plus
- Experience with conventional machining and other fabrication processes, 3D printing experience is a plus
