A Reliability Engineer in the Giga Factory Facilities team sustains, supports new and existing utility equipment, and continuously improves processes that supports one most automated factory in the world! The best candidate for the position has a high aptitude to learn new skillsets in the position. The expectation is that the engineer will start with strengths in each field and then learn all other areas from those who work with them.
This role requires capability across the board to sustain all parts of the process equipment.
What You'll Do
* Work collaboratively with Facilities Maintenance, Design, Operations, Process Engineering and Controls and other cross functional teams as the expert to ensure factory's utility equipment run in a safe, efficient manner to minimize production downtime
* Develop/Improve reliability requirements for design phase that includes full life cycle feedback
* Develop/Improve Preventative Maintenance (PM) program by use of Criticality, FMEA, RCM tools to identify failure modes and the mitigations to insure minimal impact on production
* Responsible for continuous process optimization based on Reliability requirements of the system/equipment
* Support metrics that track field reliability performance
* Perform data analysis to predict and curb failures before they occur
* Become owner / subject matter expert to drive equipment-related process improvement including detailed troubleshooting and root cause analysis
* Build training material, maintenance routines, service bulletins, one-point lessons and related documentation related to cradle to grave equipment life cycle management
* Identify equipment critical spare parts and ensure sufficient coverage to prevent extended downtime situations
* Provide hands-on support to maintenance team to troubleshoot and resolve extended downtime situations
What You'll Bring
* Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering, or equivalent experience
* Experience as an equipment engineer, maintenance engineer, or reliability engineer of facilities process systems/equipment (distillation columns, shell and tube heat exchangers, pressure vessels, HVAC, Dry Air, Compressed air, Hydronics, Boilers etc.)
* Working knowledge of TPM, RCM, FMEA and PdM programs
* Experience in predictive maintenance technologies preferred (NDT, vibration, Inferred, Ultrasound, oil analysis)
* Experience managing or working with maintenance technicians
* Experience reviewing equipment specifications in design phase
* Structured problems solving methodologies (DMAIC, 8D, etc.)
* Able to work under intense time pressure in the presence others
* Experience with commissioning and start-up of facilities process systems/equipment preferred
* CMRP OR CRE certifications preferred
