The Configuration Analyst II is a mid‑level position responsible for managing and controlling more complex configurations of engineering and manufacturing products using a Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) system.
The ISR (Intelligence, Surveillance & Reconnaissance), Aviation, and Security (IAS) business area is a leader in ISR and aviation, serving as a prime manned and unmanned aircraft systems integrator for innovative, high‑performance ISR and aviation systems. Its end‑to‑end Command, Control, Computers, Communications and Intelligence, Surveillance & Reconnaissance (C4
ISR) capabilities encompass design, integration, test, certification, ground/flight training and complete logistics support.
- Manage and control the configuration of complex engineering and manufacturing products through a PLM system.
- Ensure accurate and timely input and maintenance of Product Data, including Parts and Bills of Materials (BoMs).
- Perform detailed audits and verification of product configurations to ensure compliance with customer requirements, company standards, and industry regulations.
- Coordinate the preparation and documentation required for product structure and configuration management.
- Support the configuration change management process, including evaluating, implementing, and tracking the life cycle of changes.
- Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and stakeholders to ensure effective configuration control and resolve complex configuration issues.
- Maintain and manage detailed records and documentation related to configuration management activities.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance configuration management practices.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience in configuration management or a related field within the aerospace and defense industry.
- High‑level relevant degree may substitute for experience.
- Proficiency with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems and configuration management principles.
- Strong attention to detail and documentation skills.
- Experience working in multi‑disciplinary design and development teams.
- Basic understanding of Documentation Control Database systems.
- Advanced degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Extensive experience with PLM tools such as PTC Windchill, Siemens Teamcenter, or Dassault Systèmes ENOVIA.
- Deep understanding of regulatory and industry standards related to configuration management.
- Familiarity with project management principles and practices.
- Experience using Project Data Management (PDM)/PLM systems such as Windchill, Enovia, 3
Dxperience software, and CAD tools such as SOLIDWORKS, Creo, NX, Pro Engineer, AutoCAD, CATIA, OrCad, Allegro. - Knowledge of industry‑standard design principles, including parametric design, model‑based definition, material hardware and or electrical component selection, fabrication, manufacturing, and production processes.
- Understanding of the engineering release and control process for all data associated with system, mechanical, electrical, printed circuit board and/or software products.
- Experience with AS9100, ISO
9001, EIA‑649, MIL‑HDBK‑61, IEEE
828 and/or Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI). - Ability to rapidly work on projects involving both small and large Engineering, Operations, and Program Management teams.
- Skilled in product configuration definition and product structure development.
- Ability to generate and maintain Product Structures compliant with all product line items required by various Engineering and Operations groups.
- Certification in Configuration Management disciplines.
- Ability to work on a computer for extended periods, including proficiency with PLM and other configuration management tools.
- Manual dexterity for operating computer and related equipment.
- Ability to lift up to 20lbs occasionally.
