Description
The Mechanical Engineer III will support the design and development of New Deantronics’ products. The role will focus on mechanical design, prototyping, testing, manufacturability, and design transfer under the direction of the Project Leader.
What You'll Do- Support the mechanical design and development of products, components, assemblies, and interfaces from concept through design transfer.
- Create and maintain Solid Works models, drawings, specifications, tolerances, and bills of materials in accordance with project and quality system requirements.
- Support material selection, prototyping, tolerance analysis, benchtop testing, and evaluation of product performance, reliability, usability, and manufacturability.
- Apply design-for-manufacturing and design-for-assembly principles; assist in developing test fixtures, assembly aids, tooling, and prototype components.
- Support design control activities, including design inputs, design outputs, design reviews, risk analysis, verification, validation, protocols, reports, and documented deliverables.
- Investigate mechanical failures, defects, and product performance issues; recommend and document corrective actions as appropriate.
- Coordinate with suppliers and cross-functional Engineering, Quality, Regulatory, and Manufacturing teams to support project execution and product development activities.
- Support design transfer activities, including assembly requirements, inspection criteria, tooling, work instructions, and complete documentation within company design controls and the quality system.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- 3- 5 years of experience in mechanical design and automation engineering.
- Experience with CAD software (e.g., Solid Works, Creo, Inventor).
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to interact technically and professionally with other team members.
- Highly motivated with strong accountability and ownership of projects and tasks.
- Ability to identify problems/failure modes and potential solutions.
- Proficiency in using engineering tools such as SOLIDWORKS, data analysis, machining, root cause analysis, FMEA, and risk assessment.
- Ability to understand and apply technical documentation to problem-solving.
