Tax Compliance Manager responsible for overseeing tax compliance, audits, forecasting, and planning. Ensures compliance with current tax laws, court cases, regulations, and rulings while guiding a team of tax accountants and communicating with leadership.
Responsibilities- Prepare tax compliance work papers for federal, state, and local tax compliance, including book-to-tax adjustments.
- Implement and optimize AI-driven processes to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
- Manage and coordinate tax audits, ensuring adherence to federal, state, and local regulations.
- Oversee tax forecasting and planning, identifying potential tax‑saving opportunities.
- Provide technical guidance on existing tax laws, court cases, regulations, and rulings.
- Lead the preparation and review of detailed quarterly and annual tax calculations, projections, and estimated tax payments.
- Collaborate with finance, legal, accounting, and audit teams to ensure cohesive tax strategies.
- Monitor and update tax processes to improve efficiency and accuracy.
- Maintain detailed documentation and records to support tax audits and inquiries.
- Ensure accurate and timely filing of all tax returns and related documentation.
- Stay current on industry trends and changes in tax legislation impacting the Aerospace and Defense sector.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 7+ years of experience in tax accounting focused on tax compliance for companies (or equivalent experience).
- CPA or equivalent certification.
- Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.
- Experience managing and leading a team.
- Familiarity with financial statements and underlying financial records for building financial statements.
- Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Proficiency in tax software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Master’s degree in Taxation or a related field.
- Experience in the Aerospace and Defense industry.
- Familiarity with partnership tax reporting and compliance matters.
- Familiarity with international tax laws and regulations.
- Experience in data analytics, finance, or related quantitative roles.
- Knowledge of DoD, government contracting, or public auditing policies and procedures.
- Basic understanding of labor rate composition.
- Work in an office or hybrid environment with prolonged periods at a computer.
- Lift up to 15 pounds when necessary.
- Travel as required.
