Roundabout Catering & Party Rentals is seeking a dynamic Venue Host to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for hospitality and creating memorable guest experiences. Work Location: In person at Roundabout Catering and supporting event centers
Classification: Non-exempt
Job Type: Full-time (hours may vary depending on seasonality
Education, Certification and Experience
- 1-2 years’ experience in hospitality or customer service.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
Job Summary (Essential Functions)
The Venue Host is responsible for the venue location, client experience and the catering staff working onsite during events. Oversees the venue facility for opening and closing procedures and is the client and guests’ main point of contact while onsite at the venue. Does inventory tasks and supports in areas of service including kitchen as needed. Ensures organization and cleanliness of venue facility upon completion of an event.
Assists Salesperson with final client meetings like final walkthroughs and occasional tours. Requires frequently working irregular hours, as events are scheduled and occur.
Job Tasks/Duties
- Excellent organizational, cleanliness, and planning skills.
- Works onsite at venue and is responsible of venue during events
- Conducts routine inventory of dry goods, bar supplies and linens
- Communicates building maintenance needs to Venue Sales Manager
- Works the day of every event scheduled at venue
- Communicates event issues and/or concerns with Venue Sales Manager with no delay
- Conducts opening and closing procedures of venue
- Locks all points of entrance and exit of venue and sets venue facility alarm upon departure
- Prepares building and bridal suites for guests
- Acts as guests’ main point of contact while onsite at venue
- Helps kitchen staff, servers and bartenders as needed
- Oversees Roundabout catering staff onsite, and ensures all staff is upholding the Roundabout standard steps of service, conduct, and dress code
- Prior to closure of venue, ensures venue is clean, organized and in order, returning facility items in their appropriate places
- Maintains professionalism and positive attitude at all times of business.
- Upholds the Roundabout standards.

- Other duties as assigned by Venue Sales Manager
- Availability to work in other capacities (catering, kitchen, warehouse, etc.)
