- Process and administer payroll for employees
- Maintain employee personnel files and HR records
- Coordinate new hire onboarding and employee paperwork
- Administer employee benefits and respond to employee inquiries
- Manage leave administration, including FMLA, ADA accommodations, short-term disability, and other protected leaves
- Support recruiting, hiring, and onboarding activities
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and company employment requirements
- Maintain accurate records and prepare HR-related reports
- Provide support on employee relations and HR initiatives
- Workers' Compensation administration
- Drug & Alcohol Testing / DOT compliance (if they'll inherit that)
- Benefits open enrollment
- Employee relations and investigations
Qualifications:
- Experience in payroll processing and human resources required
- Working knowledge of FMLA, ADA, leave administration, and employment law preferred
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and HR/payroll software
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
