AWS is looking for a Network Deploy Technician to join our growing team within infrastructure operations. You will work with minimum supervision in a dynamic environment to drive the stability and sustainability of our next‑generation networks and assist in the development of innovative ways to automate and scale our network.

Key job responsibilities
  • Scale support of multiple data center locations and manage day‑to‑day capacity management.
  • Assist internal customers and external vendors to facilitate smooth project execution directed by Network Leadership and Technical Project Managers.
  • Serve as the onsite escalation point from partner teams.
  • Support large-scale enterprise class networks, network implementation, and troubleshooting.
  • Provide management and support of AWS’s vast network infrastructure, establishing and following best practices and refining operational procedures.
  • Lead and provide technical training as the point of contact for the team and partner teams.
  • Manage work and priorities through ticketing system workflows to complete customer requests and projects.
  • Collaborate with various stakeholders to remove project obstacles.
  • Troubleshoot networking, routing, and interconnectivity issues, including patch panels and cords.
  • Specify power and cooling requirements and ensure hardware racking/stacking is completed for new equipment.
  • Participate in migration, basic configuration, and rollout of new or upgraded hardware.
Physical Requirements
  • Regularly lift and/or move up to 40 pounds; participate in group lifts for 41+ pounds.
  • Work in a 24/7 environment, including primary responder rotation and after‑hours support as needed.
  • Operate in cramped, elevated, and noisy environments.
  • Bend, lift, stretch, reach, stand, and walk for up to 8+ hours a day.
  • Ascend and descend ladders, stairs, and gangways safely without limitation.
Travel

Travel within and outside of the regional work area is required. You must have a reliable personal vehicle and a valid driver’s license for regional travel, as company transportation will not be provided.

A day in the life
  • Provide first‑level networking devices to serve customer racks, track network rack intake and delivery, request rack space, power, and cooling, and partner with network engineers to ensure configurations are ready.
  • Build console builds (and room builds) and collaborate with teams to expand space and capacity for customer racks.
  • Work with ‑Scaling peers to build higher‑level networking devices.
  • Basic Qualifications
    • 2+ years of experience in computer hardware repair, infrastructure cabling, network deployment, data center operations, or technical project management.
    • 1+ year of experience in computer networking.
    • 1+ year of experience with Linux operating systems.
    • Knowledge of network design, protocols, and troubleshooting.
    • Experience conducting behavioral interviews and hiring.
    • Experience with data center operations: inventory management, hot/cold aisles, security.
    Preferred Qualifications
    • Can work in cramped spaces or elevated locations while adhering to health & safety guidelines.
    • Effectively handles customer problem resolution and operates efficiently under pressure.
    • Manages work and priorities through a ticketing system.
    • Knowledge of cabling infrastructure best practices and methodologies.
    • Experience in a data center environment (racking, stacking gear, cable management, hot/cold aisle containment).
    • Industry standard certifications (CompTIA, CCENT, Network+).
    • Familiarity with network troubleshooting tools, including VFLs, OTDR, and power meters.
    • Knowledge of major command line protocols (Cisco IOS, JunOS, GNU/Linux) and common networking protocols (BGP, OSPF).
