Overview
Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking Data Center Technicians to support customers in multiple locations. The role involves ensuring availability and reliability of data center operations, participating in primary responder rotation and providing after‑hour support as needed. Technicians will work 24/7, maintain peer collaboration, and respond to hardware, network and power incidents.
Key Responsibilities- Perform server rack installations, hardware break‑fix, and network issue troubleshooting.
- Respond to operational incidents that impact service availability and coordinate with senior technicians and management.
- Serve as a primary contact point for internal and external stakeholders, including engineers, vendors and contractors.
- Participate in on‑call duties, scheduled maintenance and change management activities.
- Contribute to documentation and process improvement initiatives.
- Help train and onboard new team members.
- Regularly lift and/or move up to 40 pounds; participate in group lifts for 41+ pounds.
- Work in a 24/7 environment, including primary responder rotation and after‑hour support.
- Operate in cramped, elevated and noisy environments.
- Perform bending, lifting, stretching, reaching, standing and walking for up to 8+ hours a day.
- Ascend and descend ladders, stairs and gangways safely.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least 1 year of relevant data‑center operations, IT support or similar experience.
- Associate’s degree or higher, or Network or Security certification (preferred).
- Experience working in a data‑center environment.
- Understanding of network design, protocols and troubleshooting.
- Experience managing work and priorities through a ticketing system.
- In‑depth hardware knowledge (e.g., PCIe).
Starting pay for the DCO III role is $30.77 per hour, with the range $27.00–$48.00 per hour depending on location and experience.
