- Perform server rack installations, hardware break‑fix on various components, troubleshoot network issues, respond to operational incidents that impact service availability, and carry out routine network, server hardware, and operating system repairs to contribute to the overall availability of AWS services.
- Serve as a primary contact point for both internal and external stakeholders, including engineers, software developers, vendors, and contractors.
- Perform on‑call duties and participate in scheduled maintenance and change management activities.
- Contribute to documentation and process improvement initiatives based on analysis of operational issues.
- Help interview, train, and onboard new team members.
- Lifting and moving material up to 40 pounds each.
- Working in cramped and/or elevated locations.
- Bending, lifting, stretching, and reaching.
- Standing and walking for up to 8+ hours a day.
- Ascending and descending ladders, stairs, and gangways safely.
- Work in an industrial environment.
- Shifts longer than 8 hours to support 24/7 operations (covering both night and day shifts).
- Potential travel to assigned data center locations; travel frequency varies.
- Ability to travel to or commute between data center locations as needed.
- Willingness to temporarily work at alternative sites during training periods or until assigned facility is operational.
- Take ownership of technical issues brought by customers, engaging other teams when needed.
- Show a strong aptitude for troubleshooting and problem solving.
- Resolve problems at root and understand broader context.
- Maintain service level agreements through proactive issue detection and reporting.
- Act independently without direction or support.
- Improve effectiveness through process innovation.
- Work a flexible schedule including weekends, nights, and holidays.
- 18+ months of computer/server hardware troubleshooting or related IT experience.
- 18+ months of computer layer 1/2 networking experience (including troubleshooting and repair).
- Experience in a data center or other critical environment.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional or military experience in an IT‑related field (e.g., computer science, network engineering).
- Industry standard certifications (CompTIA, CCENT, Network+).
- Understanding of Linux or similar operating systems.
- Behavioral interviewing and hiring experience.
- Experience training and onboarding of new team members.
USA, Nevada, Sparks - $30.00–$54.00 USD hourly.
The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign‑on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
