Description:We are seeking an experienced L2 Data Center Technician with 4 5 years of experience supporting enterprise data center environments. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with server hardware troubleshooting, rack and stack activities, cabling, hardware installation, break-fix support, and data center operations. Candidates must be comfortable working in a rotational shift environment (No Night Shift).
Role and Responsibilities:- Perform rack and stack of servers, network devices, and storage equipment.
- Handle fiber and copper cabling, including labeling and cable management.
- Support hardware installation, relocation, and decommissioning activities.
- Troubleshoot servers and isolate hardware issues.
- Order replacement parts and install components in servers.
- Coordinate defective part returns with vendors.
- Update server firmware to ensure current versions are installed.
- Configure IP addresses and default login credentials on servers.
- Assist network administrators with server and network-related issues.
- Replace damaged cables, reroute cables, replace optics, and install upgraded server components.
- Temporarily rack and cable servers or switches for remote configuration by network teams.
- Provide hands-on support for network administrators requiring server or hardware assistance.
- Perform Level 1 data center technician responsibilities as needed.
- Maintain accurate documentation of hardware changes and configurations.
- 4 5 years of Data Center Technician experience.
- Strong understanding of core data center components.
- Hands-on server troubleshooting and break-fix support.
- Rack and Stack experience.
- Server hardware installation and replacement.
- Fiber and copper cabling experience.
- Cable labeling and documentation discipline.
- Hardware decommissioning and relocation.
- Firmware updates and basic server configuration.
- Basic networking knowledge.
- Ability to support rotational shifts.
- Experience working in enterprise data center environments.
- Strong troubleshooting and hardware support skills.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Good documentation and communication skills.
- Experience supporting network teams and infrastructure operations is preferred.
