Under the direction of the Shop and Purchasing Manager, the Shop Assistant provides administrative and operational support to the Shop Department. This role combines office‑based administrative tasks with hands‑on warehouse responsibilities and delivery of materials to job sites and vendors. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys a mix of office work, driving, and physical activity in a fast‑paced construction environment.

• Provide administrative support including typing, scanning, filing, scheduling, and coordinating meetings
• Deliver materials safely and efficiently using company vehicles
• Pick up and transport materials from vendors as needed
• Load and unload materials at job sites and assist field crews as needed
• Review and manage daily delivery schedules
• Perform daily vehicle inspections and complete weekly inspection reports
• Follow all DOT regulations, safety standards, and company policies
• Assist with warehouse organization, inventory stocking, and maintaining a clean shop environment
• Support general shop operations and complete other duties as assigned

• Valid driver’s license and ability to be insured under company policy
• Ability to safely operate a company vehicle for deliveries
• Basic computer skills (email, scanning, data entry, scheduling)
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team

• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs (with or without reasonable accommodation)
• Ability to work in a warehouse/shop environment and outdoors at job sites
• Frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting

• Previous experience in a warehouse, shop, or construction environment
• Familiarity with inventory or material handling processes
