About Redwood Materials

Redwood is localizing a global battery supply chain that seamlessly integrates recovery, reuse, and recycling — keeping critical minerals in circulation and driving the energy transition. Founded in 2017, we are delivering low‑cost, large‑scale energy storage and producing battery materials in the U.S. for the first time, all from batteries we already have.

Senior Construction Manager, Self Perform Electrical

The Sr. Construction Manager Self Perform manages electrical self‑perform teams and works closely with project management, infrastructure engineering, project controls, procurement, maintenance, and operations departments from pre‑construction through completion and start of production. The role oversees all self‑perform electrical work in Nevada, including scheduling, procurement, utility and vendor tool installations, day‑to‑day construction issue resolution, inspections for compliance, and tracking of schedule and budget.

The manager coordinates permanent equipment/materials and construction activities to meet or exceed construction schedule deadlines, and handles existing plant modifications and scope additions under a shutdown schedule environment. The role also manages a team of superintendents, mechanical, and electrical tradesmen, requiring experience with multiple field crews for both electrical and process piping scopes and extensive knowledge of industrial and commercial MEP systems.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure project safety reviews and procedures are followed through weekly safety checks, safety meetings, and monthly review meetings with EHS safety support.
  • Manage all aspects of the electrical and mechanical self‑perform organization, including construction, budget, and cash management for multiple projects.
  • Develop and manage schedules, project procedures, staffing requirements, and equipment resources needed to complete accurate and timely project production.
  • Assess design and specification documents for completeness and resolve specification, contract conflict, and scheduling issues.
  • Oversee construction scheduling and coordination within self‑perform teams to identify scope conflicts or constructability issues and engage company leadership as needed.
  • Perform additional assignments as directed by management.
  • Maintain working relationships with Redwood infrastructure, operational process, facility, and design teams to support the project work plan and payment schedule.
  • Act as the main point of contact for all internal Redwood stakeholders, including operations, maintenance, construction, document control, procurement, and government agencies.
  • Review and approve staffing and equipment needs for efficient and effective project production.
  • Participate in dispute resolution processes with support from Redwood leadership.
  • Provide input on equipment procurement methods and contracts to ensure efficient project production.
  • Lead project closeout procedures, finalize contract paperwork, and work with management to resolve any disputes. Lead project debrief cycles to review all aspects of project work and completion.
  • Maintain knowledge of Redwood’s values and strategic plan.
Desired Qualifications
  • 20+ years of construction supervision experience.
  • 15+ years managing field personnel.
  • 10+ years of electrical construction experience as both a tradesman and supervisor.
  • Experience driving trades workers to meet safety, schedule, and production milestones.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field.
  • Experience managing a team of superintendents and field crews for both electrical and mechanical scopes.
  • Experience in plant shutdown scheduling and coordination to meet shutdown and operational milestones.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for engaging and retaining positive working relationships.
  • Strong skills in identifying, tracking, and managing project risk.
  • Ability to efficiently and effectively manage multiple departments and direct reports toward a single project completion goal and timeline.
  • Ability to identify growth opportunities for project personnel, coach, and mentor them.
