Area Superintendent - System Operations

Job Description:

In collaboration with other Field Superintendents and under the supervision of the Regional Manager, this position will be primarily responsible for the oversight of the operations, strategic planning and personnel management of the Start-Up, Air Balance, and Warranty group within the assigned area.

Area Supervisors, General Foreperson

• Lead and oversee all Start-Up eld activities to ensure standards and productivity are met in an eort to achieve company goals
• Operations

    • Proper team selection including assignment of Forepersons
    • Project execution strategies and scheduling
    • Mentor, train, and develop future supervisors (succession planning) to meet current and future business needs.
    • Weekly project progress, health, and safety reports
    • Help to provide resolution of issues, challenges, and obstacles
    • Execution of QA/QC protocols
      Implementation of Safety Department's protocols
    • Engaging equipment vendors and third-party subcontractors
    • Implementation of Acco policies and procedures
    • Understand and ensure compliance with applicable union Collective
      Bargaining Agreements
    • Planning for successful project installation
  • Job Walks (with/for project management)
  • Attend pre-bid & post-bid interviews
  • Review bid estimates
  • Participation in project kick-o, mid-job and wrap-up meetings
  • Review project documents to determine the proper stang requirements
  • Assignment of eld supervision and labor to projects
  • Continuous evaluation of all personnel to ensure performance is at the highest level
  • Monitor and advise on quality control measures to ensure high-quality output at or above industry standards
  • Evaluate and advise on means and methods of continuous improvement to increase eciency and meet project goals
  • Review and track project labor budgets
  • Fill any project need gaps until job is assigned a eld supervisor
  • Engage with labor relations representatives to create and foster meaningful, long-term relationships that support company goals including defending and resolving labor disputes
  • Knowledge of current building and mechanical code
  • Encourage communication between the assigned project supervision and the
    associated PM/PE. Coordinate and assist with problem solving strategies with the PM and assigned supervision when issues rise beyond the scope or
    understanding/capability of the project supervision assigned.

  • Assist Director in departmental budgets, nancial planning and eet management as needed
  • Other tasks and duties as assigned by Regional Manager and/or upper management
• Strategic Planning
  • Understand and support the strategic plan and corporate vision
  • Ensure adoption and implementation of standard processes and procedures to achieve high level quality, productivity and eciency across eld operations
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate risks associated with Start-Up activities (i.e.: installations, materials, equipment, personnel)
  • Ensure safety measures are up-to-date and communicated eectively to all eld personnel in an eort to mitigate risk and reduce liability
• Personnel Management
  • Adhere to and promote company policies
  • Instill a culture of accountability, integrity, ethics, and respect within the department
  • Mentor, train, and develop top performing supervisors (succession planning) to meet current and future business needs and avoid any gaps in strong leadership
  • Coordinate labor requests with the local union labor halls
  • Responsible for all hiring and termination of union System Operations sta within the assigned area

  • Create and foster collaborative relationships among leadership teams across varying departments and locations
  • Participate in cross-functional initiatives and projects to meet company growth objectives
