Forklift Operator, Material Handler
ROLE OVERVIEW
Maintains production and distribution of product by transporting finished product to the warehouse, wrapping finished product, and shipping finished product. Responsible for the organization and cleanliness of the warehouse. Serves as backup for Material Handlers.
WHAT YOU GET TO DO- Receives finished goods from production by verifying materials batch number and quantity, wrapping, and placing materials in stock.
- Prepares finished stock for shipment by identifying, pulling, securing, and loading product.
- Assists production employees by stacking finished product on skids and taping cartons.
- Maintains a safe and clean work environment through organizing and cleaning the warehouse.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Responsible for working safely and maintaining a safe work environment: attends required training, identifies and reports hazards; wears required PPE for position; and is accountable for self as well as co-worker safety.
- Participates in and/or supports continuous improvement initiatives.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Forklift operator's permit is required.
- Commercial Driver's License is preferred.
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced work environment.
- A strong work ethic, reliable, trustworthy, capable, and willing to learn; contributes new ideas; respects co-workers and understands the importance of teamwork.
- Solid understanding of plant and safety rules.
- Must perform good manufacturing practices, including housekeeping.
- Involves frequent lifting, walking, pulling, and bending.
- Maximum lift weight of 50 pounds.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
