The Maintenance Oiler and Greaser oils and greases moving parts and friction surfaces of mechanical equipment such as shaft and motor bearings, sprockets, drive chains, gears, and pulleys by performing the following duties.
Responsibilities- Fill containers such as oil cans, grease guns, or lubrication truck tanks with specified lubricants.
- Ensure all reservoirs are properly filled and that moving parts and friction surfaces are adequately greased.
- Adjust oil cup valves to regulate the flow of oil to moving components.
- Fill wells and sumps of lubrication systems with oil as required.
- Inspect machinery to assess general operating conditions, identifying premature wear, defects, or malfunctions.
- Document inspection results on daily reports and immediately report any concerns to the supervisor.
- Clean machines, sweep floors, and transport stock as needed.
- Perform general plant housekeeping, including sweeping, vacuuming warehouse floors, cleaning hoppers, and disposing of waste.
- Maintain facility grounds by removing trash and weeds.
- Assist with painting using brushes, rollers, or sprayers.
- Conduct cycle counts (physical inventory) of finished goods, raw materials, and supplies.
- File paperwork and assist with data entry and quality analysis.
- Perform equipment calibrations and support inspection processes.
- Conduct safety audits to identify unsafe conditions or behaviors.
- Support safety initiatives by assisting with training preparation and delivering training to employees.
- Operate forklifts to support maintenance, production, and shipping operations.
- Attend and participate in additional training sessions as required.
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) Required.
Upon Hire:
Mine Safety and Health Administration New Miner Training, Haz Com and ISO training.
Prioritizing and plans work activities, uses time efficiently, completes work in timely manner.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to add and subtract two‑digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.
Follows instructions, responds to management direction.
Follow all statutory, regulatory, and organizational procedures to protect the environment from hazardous waste exposure.
Ability to work in confined spaces and elevated locations.
