Quality Engineering Supervisor

Overview

The Quality Supervisor oversees and supervises quality operations, including quality control plan inspections, daily quality checks, special projects, communication with production, and coordination of inspectors’ and technicians’ activities. The Supervisor is responsible for scheduling staff based on materials supply inventory, staffing resources, and volumes required to meet demand and to ensure maximum quantity and quality.

• Manage overall quality control plan inspections – compliance with tasks, actions around issues determined from inspections, and employees’ activities, lunch/break schedules.
• Maintain quality control processes, support ISO quality management activities, and represent quality on the production floor.
• Conduct failure analysis and execute corrective action plans related to process quality.
• Supervise a quality team consisting of technicians and inspectors, providing direction, coordination, and evaluation.
• Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with applicable laws.
• Interview, hire, train employees; plan, assign, and direct work; appraise performance; reward, discipline, address complaints, and resolve problems following company policies and procedures.
• Develop process flow improvements to support efficiency, ergonomics, or cost reduction.
• Other duties may be assigned.

• Wearing PPE may include a full Tyvek suit, safety shoes, gloves, safety glasses, face mask, bump cap, and a full hazmat suit with respirator.

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent (required).
• Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline such as Mechanical, Chemical, or Manufacturing Engineering (preferred).

• Minimum five years of experience in a high‑volume manufacturing environment.
• Experience utilizing quality management tools including SPC, FTA, FMEA.
• Ability to learn new technologies, adapt to changing requirements, and balance time across multiple projects.
• Excellent communication skills, including explaining and presenting technical information.
• Excellent understanding of manufacturing operations.
• Ability to influence change without direct authority.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to identify and analyze data patterns and quality discrepancies.
• Experience leading teams and coordinating with cross‑functional teams.
• Proven ability to work in a fast‑paced, flexible environment and take initiative to learn new tools.
• Approachable and adaptable.
• Proficient in MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook).
• Working‑level knowledge of the English language.

• 1–2+ years of people‑leader experience.
• Independent and team‑oriented work style, including cross‑functional collaboration.
• Resilient, self‑motivated, and able to work well under pressure.
• Prior manufacturing and/or SAP experience.
• Experience with TS16949 automotive quality standards or ISO
  9001.
