Overview
Tool & Die Specialist – Entry Level – Night Shift (B Shift) – Top Cap Department.
The entry level Tool and Die Specialist will maintain progressive stamping die sets for the Top Cap Press department. The Specialist must demonstrate knowledge listed on the Entry level Tool and Die Specialist evaluation. This role will be exposed to troubleshooting, repair, and improvement activities and also required to perform the functions of an operator.
Responsibilities- Must be proficient with all required press room standard operating procedures.
- Remove and install die sets in press machines.
- Operate heavy lifting equipment such as chain hoists and die lifters.
- Operate press machines for testing, trial sampling, diagnosis and repair of die sets and supporting systems.
- Verify dimensions, alignments, and clearances.
- Use hand tools for minor disassembly and assembly of die set components.
- Assist senior team members with complex die set adjustments, setup, and repairs.
- Keep detailed and comprehensive records of work performed via the existing reporting and record keeping systems.
- Support production staff with press machine operations and other related duties as needed.
- Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.
- Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating professionally.
- Wearing PPE such as a full Tyvek suit, safety shoes, gloves, safety glasses, face mask, bump cap, and a full hazmat suit with respirator.
Education:
- High School Diploma or GED (required).
- Preferred:
None.
MUST-HAVES:
- Experience in a mechanical field.
- Minimum 1+ years of experience in a production or manufacturing environment.
- Working‑level knowledge of the metric system to the micron level.
- Minimum of 3 years of pertinent experience.
- Working‑level knowledge of the English language (reading, writing, speaking).
NICE-TO-HAVES:
- Minimum of 2+ years of related experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Safety conscientious attitude.
- Skill set in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Word).
