Job Summary:
The Tool and Die Specialist 2 will maintain progressive stamping die sets for the Top Cap Press department. Has demonstrated understanding listed on the Entry level Tool and Die Specialist, Tool and Die Specialist 1, and Tool and Die Specialist 2 evaluations. This role will be exposed to troubleshooting, repair, and improvement activities. Will also be required to perform the functions of an operator.
Essential Duties:
- All Items listed under Entry Level Tool and Die Specialist and Tool and Die Specialist 1
- Proficient in the use of high precision measuring equipment such as form tracer and electronic measuring microscope
- Complete full overhauls of progressive die sets, independently from start to finish, within specified time limits, including all centering and adjustment operations
- Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain all press production support systems such as lubricator systems, servo feeders, and punch oil sprayer systems
- Study specifications such as blueprints, sketches, models, or descriptions, and visualizes product to create, modify, and maintain tools, dies, and fixtures
- Examines standard or previously used dies, tools, and jigs and fixtures, and recommends design modifications regarding construction and function of part
- Computes dimensions, plans layout, and determines assembly method and sequence of operations for die sets and components
- Sets up and operates machine tools such as lathes, milling machine, shaper, and grinder to machine parts and verify conformance of machined parts to specifications
- Inspect finished dies to ensure proper smoothness, finish, and contour free of all defects.
- Set up, test, and qualify press machines for new die sets
- Compile and share comprehensive reports on new toolset qualification and process 4m changes
- Work directly with Press and Production Engineers as well as Technical Advisers on a wide range of projects
- Must be willing and able to train Entry Level Tool and Die Specialists and Tool and Die Specialist 1
- To ensure the health and safety in the workplace and for the protection of our employees, wearing PPE is a possibility and may include equipment such as a full Tyvek suit, safety shoes, gloves, safety glasses, face mask, bump cap, and a full hazmat suit that includes a respirator.

- Minimum of 3+ years of experience working with progressive die sets and press stamping in a manufacturing environment
- Experience in a mechanical field
- Must have working-level knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing, and speaking English
- Minimum of 3+ years of related experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment
- Must have a safety conscientious attitude
- Skill set in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, and Word
