Job SummaryThe Machine Operator operates one or several lithium‑ion battery cell production machines within a variety of departments, including many clean‑room environments. Machines include inspection and conveyance types. Operators perform machine and area upkeep, 5S, material movement, basic analysis, and produce production logs. They work with a team to ensure safe and high‑quality product, maintain communication with co‑workers and Maintenance Technicians, and elevate issues to management.
Shift logs and QC records are maintained, and all safety standards, environmental regulations, company rules, and policies are followed.
- Operate one or several lithium‑ion battery cell production machines (inspection and conveyance types).
- Start‑up machines and identify problems and troubleshoot minor issues.
- Deliver materials to the production floor and estimate workload.
- Assist Maintenance Technicians with preventative maintenance and equipment clean‑up.
- Monitor processes and perform continuous image inspections and visual quality checks.
- Use Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and material barcode scanners.
- Follow work instructions and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
- Prepare documentation as required and maintain clean and safe work areas (6S).
- Communicate verbally and in writing with co‑workers.
- Adhere to company rules and policy and comply with environmental safe practices.
- Full Tyvek suit, safety shoes, gloves, safety glasses, face mask, bump cap, and in some roles a full hazmat suit with respirator.
- No formal education required.
- Preferred:
High School Diploma, GED, or 2 years of prior experience in a functional area.
- Working‑level knowledge of the English language: reading, writing, and speaking.
- Previous experience in a warehouse, manufacturing, automation, or assembly environment.
- Ability to analyze, estimate workload, and multitask.
- Proficiency with metric and standard measurement systems.
- Basic skills in MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook).
Workday activities – Sit 30%, Walk 30%, Stand 20%, Lift 20%.
Required lifting: up to 10 lbs., up to 20 lbs., up to 35 lbs. occasional; team lift over 35 lbs. occasional.
